Personal Data

From 25th May 2018 the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into force. This will have an immediate effect on the way in which we contact our members. A key principle of these regulations is that the data an organisation holds on you is accurate; so it is very important that the Ramblers central database is the authoritative record of members' details.

Taff Ely Ramblers use the information from this database to post our walk programs and to email details of walks, events etc to our members. As this database contains your contact preferences it is important that you inform Ramblers if you wish to continue receiving information from us by these methods.

The easiest way for members to update their information is by logging into their account on the Ramblers website and changing their details in the "My Account". If they do not have an account then one can be created. In either case follow the link given below.

If you do not have access to the Internet you can call the membership services team on 020 7339 8595. Please note that our membership secretary can no longer accept updates on behalf of a member; the member must get in touch with Ramblers UK.

Walks Leaders Consent Form

We print and provide walk programmes twice a year. On these programmes names and telephone numbers of the walk leaders and also the officers and committee are shown. Because these programmes are deemed to be available in the public domain we will now need a consent form that has been completed and signed by each individual concerned to allow us to continue to do this. These consent forms can be held by us locally and will be valid as long as each individual continues to participate in said activity. In order to allow us to do this we are asking that walk leaders and committee members download a consent form , complete and return to our chairman so that we can carry on with our activities.

Finally, I am sure that more information will be forthcoming from Ramblers UK in due course and all I am highlighting is the stuff that is relevant to us at this time.
