Barry Sidings Country Park is just off the A4058 road between Pontypridd and Porth.  
If you are coming from Pontypridd the turning into the park is in the 40mph area just after a large yellow speed camera.  
Please take care as the turning is directly onto a narrow bridge.  
There is a sign to the park on the right hand side of the road by the turning.  
This will be after you have passed a sign for the park on the left hand side of the road.

Park along Graigwen road at the top near the Georgian Houses. This road leads to Llanwunno.

From Llantrisant Leisure Centre
Take the road to Llantrisant town and continue on to Beddau.
At the Beddau roundabout  take the second exit passing Bryn Celynnog School and continue along Pencoedcae Road to The Queens Head where the road turns sharp right. Follow the road for 0.6 mile to a small housing estate with dormer bungalows. Turn right into the estate at Burn's Way. Park carefully along here.  

From Pontypridd Area
Head to Pontypridd along the Broadway and turn left at the traffic light near the railway station. Pass under the railway bridge and follow the road (High Street) up hill for 1 mile to the afore mentioned housing estate and turn left into Burn's Way.

At Pontypridd travel along Gelliwasted Road and turn at St Catherine's Church.

Assuming travel from Llantrisant along the by-pass to Upper Boat. 
Option one. 
Join the A4054 and travel through Hawthorn, Glyn Taff and on to Cilfynydd. 
A left turn to the school occurs just after leaving the village.

Take the A4119 all the way to Llwynypia and turn left at lights to join the A4058.  
Follow this road to Treorchy where, at the traffic lights, you bear right to join the A4061 towards Treherbert.  
After 1.5 miles with the Bute pub on your right and just after the first pedestrian crossing with lights turn left into Station Street and park near the station.

Go up the valleys to Treorchy. At the main traffic lights in Treorchy turn left towards the station. Go over the railway bridge, look for a layby on the left near the park.

You immediately come to Cwmbach sign where you turn left into Estate road (Specialist cars).  
Follow access road parallel to main road.
Park on right outside Prospect House.

For those coming via Aberdare take the A4059 towards Abercynon and turn left at the roundabout after you cross the River Cynon and the railway line. (Marked * above).

Leaving the Llantrisant leisure centre, head up the valleys. Turn right to go over Trebanog hill. Turn left at the bottom of the hill towards porth. At the roundabout turn back on yourself then keep the left hand lane into porth at the traffic lights. Follow the one way system but stay on left lane. Where road splits take the left turn. In front is the rheola pub under the bridge. Use the council car parks to the left or the right. Do not use the Rheola car park.

From Pontypridd take the B4273 through Ynysybwl and on towards Llanwonno.
The car park is on the left near the bottom of the climb to Llanwonno

The shortest route from the Leisure Centre is via Penycoedcae and Pontypridd.
From Pontypridd pass the bus station and turn left at the traffic lights onto Berw Rd.
Follow the road for 4 miles through Ynysybwl village.

From J34 of the M4, take the A4119 towards Llantrisant.
At the first set of lights turn right and continue through Groes-faen, after 1.2 miles turn left onto Tynant Rd. After 0.7 mile turn right on Heol Creigiau, continue along until the Creigiau Arms and turn left onto Station Rd for 0.2 mile.
There is a carpark as you enter the recreation ground.

Take A4119 as if heading for the M4, but turn left at traffic lights by Castell Mynach pub, staying on A4119. 2. 
Drive through village of Groes Faen and come to traffic lights at cross roads by new housing. Turn left here towards Creigiau and almost immediately right, signposted for Pentyrch.

Head up the A470. Turn right onto the A472 just after trade Centre Wales then left at the roundabout to Aberfan. Turn right after the Glantaff Inn, then left just before the Quakers Yard Inn. Leave the A470 at the Abercynon Roundabout to join A472.

 Head straight at next roundabout and continue for half a mile.
 Just after the green Nelson village boundary sign, take a sharp left uphill to the Hollybush Pub.
 Street parking opposite by bungalows, or to the side of the Pub.

From the Leisure Centre take the A470 to the main Abercynon roundabout and follow the signs to Ystrad Mynach A472. Continue to Nelson and then take the B4255 following the brown signs for Llancaiach Fawr House. Continue on this road past Gelligaer, then under a railway bridge down to a T-junction. Turn left onto the A469 marked Bargoed. Pass 3 roundabouts on the A469 and then turn left under a viaduct with signs for Deri and Parc Cwm Darren. Take this road until a hairpin bend and take the left turning marked Deri, Fochriw and Parc Cwm Darren. Go left through Deri and then right after the bridge crossing the stream continuing to follow signs for Fochriw and Parc Cwm Darren. After about 1 mile turn right into the main entrance for Parc Cwm Darren and drive down to the bottom of the slope and right past the Visitor Centre into the car park.

The Rowan Tree is located along the A472 between Nelson and Ystrad Mynach.

The entrance to the park is on the left just past a Pedestrian crossing.

From Abercynon, take the A472 towards Ystrad Mynach, stay on the A472 for about 3.4 miles, then take the second exit at the roundabout by the Council offices.  Parc Penallta is now on a brown signpost.  The turning is on the left in about a mile.

From Llantrisant, travel either via Nelson or Caerphilly. 
So, if travelling via Nelson you come to the station after entering the village on the A472. 
Via Caerphilly. Travel north along the A469. 
Nearing Ystrad Mynach follow signs for the railway station. 
Since the walk is on a Sunday the car park should be fairly empty but there is some street parking opposite if needed.

Take the Nantgarw exit from the A470 on to the A468 towards Caerphilly.
Keep on A468 at first roundabout; 2nd exit. Signposted 468/469 Ystrad Mynach.
Keep on A468 at second roundabout; 2nd exit.  Same Signpost.
At third roundabout join A469 dual carriageway towards Ystrad Mynach.
Keep on A469 past two roundabouts.
At third roundabout take first exit towards Duffryn.Ind Est.
After 40 yards take Duffryn Ind Est exit off roundabout.  After 100 yards turn right into Sycamore Close.  Park on right hand side of road in front of Bergstrom works.

Exit the A470 at Nantgarw exit to follow the A468 to the roundabout where you take the A469 Caerphilly bypass.  At the second roundabout turn left, still on the A469, and follow this road, signed for Bargoed, until, at Bargoed, you pass the Morristons Petrol Station on your left.  The car park is on the right off the next roundabout.

From the A469 Caerphilly bypass take the Abertridwr/Senghenydd exit from the roundabout onto the B4263. At the first roundabout follow this road to Abertridwr where after 1.2 miles, at the first set of traffic lights, turn left into Winson Way and follow around a left bend, then take first right and park on the dirt area on the right.  More space is round the next corner.

From the A470 take the Caerphilly Road, A468 uphill to a roundabout. 
Take 1st exit and travel a short distance to the entrance of Caerphilly Garden Centre.
Enter and drive around the main building then turn left to a rough parking area. 
Park at the top of his area near the exit.

	Head along the A473 to Upper Boat and take the A470 south and leave at sign for Caerphilly.
	 Travel up Nant Garw Hill and at the large roundabout take 3rd exit join the B4600 to Caerphilly.
	AtCaerphillygo straight on at the traffic lights and follow the road as it circles to the rightgradually  moving into the LH lane  to emerge opposite the castle.
	Turn left and travel past the shopping area uphill,shortly to turn left opposite the new library.(Beware, part of the road   contains a bus lane.)

take the exit towards Brynmawr from Heads of the Valleys Rd.

At the 4th roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Blaina Rd, 
then take the first exit at the next roundabout to arrive in the Asda car park.
 
If coming from the M4, at junction 28, take the A48 W exit to Brynmawr/A467. 
Continue on the A467 to Brynmawr, taking the 2nd exit onto Blaina Rd, 
then take the first exit at the next roundabout to arrive at the Asda car park.

Take the M4 and come off at the Margram interchange
Keep to the right and come off at the 3rd exit onto the A48, you will see a brown sign for Margram Abbey.
Turn left onto a country road. Follow this for approx 200 yards and you will see on your left at the starting point car spaces for a few cars
If you continue on the road to your right to the Abbey car park.
We were able to park the last time using the furthest spaces to the left across from the row of cottages against the Abbey walls.

Take M4 to junction 38.  
Come off the roundabout on the third exit on to the A48. Turn first left on to Ten Acre Wood. 
Follow the round around until you come to the split in the road.
Take right fork for the Abbey. 
You can park in the Abbey car park against the wall, please keep to the far end left of the Abbey wall.

 Take the M4 to junction 36 (Sarn). Follow the A4063 through Tondu and Cwmfelin to Maesteg.
At the traffic lights in Maesteg, (look for King Alfred it's on the right) turn left onto B4282 signposted for Port Talbot and Bryn.
Shortly after the turning for the golf club on the left, on the right hand side you will see the entrance to the car park.
Park here if possible otherwise park in the lay-by but not blocking entrance to road through the golf course.

 Leaving the Llantrisant Leisure Centre, head to Porthcawl along the M4. Exit J37, head to Porthcawl. Follow signs to Trecco Bay on A4106, then at the next roundabout take 1st  exit towards Newton. (Sign for Trecco Bay) 
Turn second left into Clevis Crescent towards St Johns Church just before you enter Newton. Follow the narrow lane to a junction between two trees. Ahead is Beach Road which passes to the right of the church.Go between the trees and head down  Beach Road  till you reach the sea and the car park on the left.

M4 west, leave at junction 36 and follow signs for Maesteg A4063. Travel downhill through 3 sets of traffic lights, at roundabout take 3rd exit and continue toMaesteg.
Follow signs to Maesteg town centre A4063 and free carpark, at traffic lights go straight ahead to the Aldi sign turn right into the carpark.

 From Llantrisant take M4 to Bridgend
Leave at junction 26 and follow signs for Maesteg, at the roundabout follow signs for Pyle (straight across).
At Cefn Cribwr pass the Cefn Cribwr Primary School on your left and lookout for a grey building wall with CEFN, take the right turn signed Bedford Park. 
Travel down the hill taking care on the narrow road pass the national speed limit sign and the car park is on the left.

M4 to Sarn Junction (Junction 36) - Those from the Rhondda go via Blackmill.
Take A4063 (signed Maesteg) past Services entrance until roundabout is reached.
Go straight on at roundabout on B4281 (signed Pyle).
At Fountain restaurant (Brown duck signs) turn right towards Parc Slip Nature Park.
Continue, past park, to cross roads and then turn left and follow road for 1.6 miles until Forestry (Craig yr Aber) car park is reached.

Exit M4 at Sarn. Take exit signed Maesteg. After 1 mile exit to the right at roundabout (still signed Maesteg). At lights proceed straight on, after which the road to Maesteg bends around to the right. The Cross Inn at Cwmfelin is reached about 2 miles before Maesteg.Llan Road is brown (tourist) signed for Llangynwyd historic village.

From Llantrisant take the A419 to the Rhondda, signed for Treorchy. After bypassing Tonypandy look for the Asda store on your right and turn left at the traffic lights on to the A4223  and pass through Gelli towards Treorchy.
Prior to Treorchy turn left onto the A4061, the Bwlch Mountain road ,then at the view point near the top turn right onto the A4107, passing Abergwynfi onto Cwmmer, then at the staggered crossroads turn right, signposted Glyncorrwg.
After a short distance down the hill pass over a small bridge and take the left turn to the Refreshment Rooms [yes it,s a pub]. Turn left just prior to the traffic lights for the road bridge and into the small car park near the children's park.

On exit take right folk over Motorway following signs for Maesteg
Follow A4063 through Tondu, Coytrahen and past large Georgia-Pacfic factory on right.
On entry to Llangynwyd (called Pont Rhyd-y-cyff on OS map) take first street on the right.

Assuming travel from Llantrisant take the M4 west and leave at junction 35to join the A473, Coychurch By-Pass.

From J35 of the M4 take the A473 towards Bridgend.  At the first roundabout take the first exit to continue on the A473.  After approximately 1 mile take the right turn into Coychurch. There are many routes in but the most straightforward is off J32 of the M4 (Coryton) and down Manor Way. Before getting to the Gabalfa interchange turn left at some lights for Birchgrove Road. After 2.2 miles take left turn towards Heol Senni.
Keep straight on this road (towards Crai) until just over a mile after passing Heol Senni you come across Penwaundwr.  There is limited parking (opposite trees) on an open space just before the house.

Take the A473 from the Llantrisant Leisure Centre to pick up the northbound A470 to Merthyr Tydfil. Proceed to the end of the dual carriageway at Merthyr and exit on the newly completed A465 travelling west in the direction of Hirwaun. Exit at Glyneath and take right turn for Pontneddfechan at the Max Boyce traffic lights. After a few hundred metres take a left turn to Pontneddfechan. If needed there is a toilet on the left hand side just after the Angel Hotel (no toilets at start point) in the village. A little further on Dinas Road forks off to the right just before the main road starts to climb (an abandoned pub sits at the junction). Take the Dinas Road and at the end of housing look for the blue 'P' sign with a forward arrow taking you to the Dinas Rock car park.

Take the A470 to Brecon. When you reach the A4215, continue on this road until you reach the A4067, turn right onto the A4607, then take a left down Dyfynnog Rd, passing the Usk & Railway Inn on your left. Turn right and sharp right again into the car park.

From the Leisure Centre, either go up through Cynon Valley on A4059 or stay on A470 to Merthyr to join A465 (Heads of Valleys).
Turn left onto A465 towards Neath.
At Hirwaun take the A4059 north.
1.5Km after Penderyn take the road on left towards Ystradfellte.
Take the right fork after about 2Km.
Follow the road for another 2.6 Km to reach a T-Junction.
Turn right, towards Sennybridge, and after 2.2 Km a track leads down to the Blaen Llia car park on the right.

Take the A470 towards Brecon but leave at the turn for Dyfynnog. A4215.
Pass through Dyfynnog and at the T junction turn right. Travel along the road to a left turn into Heol Dyfynnog which winds down to anther T junction at Sennybridge.
Turn right and follow to a left turn sign for Llandovery and A40 which takes you into Sennybridge . Shortly turn right at sign for Pentre'r Felin and Pentrebach.
At Pentre-Felin turn right over the river bridge and follow the signs for Llanfihangle-Nant-Bran. Near the top of a hill by a left hand bend in the road, turn right at another sign for L-N-Bran. Be aware of oncoming traffic.
Follow the road for approximately 2 miles into L-N-Bran village.
Ahead you will see the church and on the right a broad gate which gives access to the village hall car park.

Head up the A470 turning first left at roundabout towards Aberdare on A4059, and then keeping straight on through Penywaun and Hirwaun to Pontneddfechan towards Glynneath.  
At roundabout look out for directional sign for Penderyn and take 3rd exit.
After about one mile the Penderyn Distillery is on your right with a lay-bye just beyond for parking.

Take the A470 towards Brecon. The car park is about 2/3 miles past the Storey Arms. It is on the left in a lay by formed by the old Brecon road.

Take the A470 past Merthyr Tydfil towards Brecon.
On descent after Storey Arms look out for sign to Visitor Centre on outskirts of Libanus.
Follow the twisty road for about 2Km.
The visitor Centre is on the right after a cattle grid.

Drive up the A470 past Brecon.
After crossing the heads of the valley road Storey Arms is  8 miles along on the Right

A470 to Heads of the Valley Road (A465)
Turn Right at Roundabout and take first slip road just after river
At top of ramp cross A4054 and take road through Trefechan, Vaynor and Pontsticill, past the two reservoirs and steep descent at Blaen-y-glyn following signs for Talybont on Usk.
When you reach Talybont reservoir (on right) continue until the end of forestry on your left.  The car park is on your right.
If you reach the dam then you have gone too far.

A470 to Heads of the Valley Road (A465)
Turn Right at Roundabout and take first slip road just after river
At top of ramp cross A4054 and take road through Trefechan, Vaynor and Pontsticill, past the two reservoirs and steep descent at Blaen-y-glyn following signs for Talybont on Usk.
When you reach Talybont reservoir (on right) continue until the dam is on your right.  
Cross over the dam and park near forest gates.

	From the Leisure Centre head for the A470 travelling north towards Brecon and Builth Wells.(A short section of dual carriageway follows the A40 Brecon By-Pass).
	8.3 miles from the start of the by-pass the A470 turns sharp left towards Builth Wells.
	Follow the winding road for a further 1.4 miles and just after  after a sharpish right-hand bend look for a left turn onto a minor road. Beware, the turn can be easily missed since it is notindicated by a sign and is not obvious until you are almost on it. This is a fast road so take care.
	Follow the minor road as it winds for a mile to the area of Brechfa Pool. It is fairly narrow but has a number of passing places.

Take the A470 to just outside Brecon where you join the A40 in the direction of Abergavenny.  
After passing through Llansantffraed, you will see the car park on the left in a long lay-by that include toilets

Take the A470 towards Brecon
At a roundabout take 4th exit onto the A40, sign for Abergavenny.(Brecon by-pass).
Further on at a roundabout rejoin the A470 and follow straight on as the road joins the A438, Sign for Hereford.
At a roundabout take 3rd exit (Bronlys by-pass) and at the next rbout take 3rd exit onto A479 to Talgarth.
Avoid turns to Talgarth town centre but carry on to a roundabout and take 1st exit into the town car park.

Head along the A470 towards Merthyr but leave at a roundabout to join the A4060 (sign Pentrebach) to Dowlais Top.
At Dowlais Top negotiate the two roundabouts to join the A465 towards Abergavenny. 
Follow the A465 for Approx. 4.5miles and leave at a sign for Ebbw Vale A4046.
At the first of two consecutive roundabouts take 2nd exit and at the next take 1st exit onto the A 4281. Follow for approx. 1.7 miles to a set of traffic lights at Garnlydan.
Join the B4560 and follow the road for 6 miles to a T junction and turn left at a sign for Llangynidr. The car park entrance is on the left opposite a toilet block.

	Head north on the A470 but leave the road at a roundabout and follow signs for Pentrebach.
	Follow the dual carriageway to Dowlais Top and at the second of two roundabouts take the 4th exit onto the A465, NEW Heads of Valleys road .Sign for Abergavenny. 
	Follow the road for 4.3 miles and leave to join the A4046 Signs for Ebbw Vale.
	At a roundabout take 2nd exit and shortly after on the next roundabout take 1st exit. You are now on the OLD Heads of the Valleys Road. A4281.
	Follow the A4281 and turn left at a sign for Llangynidr. Follow the road around and turn right at a T junction with sign for Llangynidr.
	Follow the road across the moor until you turn right at a sign for Llangattock and Crickhowell. 
	At Crickhowell cross the river bridge and turn left at a T junction to join the A40 for Brecon. Further along the A40 turn right a sign for Tretower and Cwmdu. A479.
	From Tretower fallow the A479 for 6 miles until you see a white pub The Dragons Back on the right and a parking area just beyond. There is an honesty box here for parking at the pub car park.

Take the A470 leaving the roundabout heading for Pentrebach.
Follow the A4060 coming to the double roundabout which leads to the A465, the turnoff with the Texaco garage on the right hand side.
Follow the road until you see the turn off for Gilwern on the left hand side heading for Crickhowell.
Take the Brecon road, turn right onto the Talgarth Road A479.
Pass Tretower and continue until the next town, Cwmdu, the Village Hall carpark is on the left at the other side of the town, about 100 yards past the Farmers Arms on the right.

From Llantrisant take the A470 north towards Merthyr Tydfil but leave at Pentrebach and join the road to Dowlais Top and there join the A465 towards Abergavenny.
Leave the A465 and follow the A4281 to Garnlyden.
At Garnlyden join the mountain road to Crickhowell and at a T Junction turn left onto the A40
Follow the A40 to a right turn at a sign for Tretower Court and Castle.
At Tretower turn left into the area of the Court and Castle car park.

Whichever way you drive to the car park, you will be using quiet lanes with passing places.
If you come from the A465, you could come off at the junction signposted for Brynmawr and Big Pit, follow the sign for School and then turn right (signposted Llangattock).  This is quite a long lane which will take you to the car park (on your left)
If you enter Llangattock itself, either from the B4560 or via Crickhowell or Gilwern, then turn into Hillside Road and turn right at a junction of lanes.  This is a narrow lane with a couple of steep sections but a shorter lane section than the previous option.  The car park will be on your right.
My preferred route is to drive to Gilwern, then take the turning for Llanelly.  When you reach the church, keep it on your right, follow the road to the right (keeping the church on your right) and then turn left.  This lane is not steep but still narrow.  Turn right at the junction at the top (after a three point turn, due to the angle).  After a short flat section, the car park will be on your left.

Take the A470 north and leave at signs for Pentrebach then follow the A4060 to Dowlais Top. (beware of the road works)
At the Dowlais Top roundabout, take the A465 towards Abergavenny but leave at sign for Ebbw Vale A4046. (Approximately 4.8 miles)
At the first of two roundabouts take 2nd exit then 1st exit at the second. Follow the A4281 and turn left at sign for Llangynidr.
Follow the twisting mountain road to a sign indicating a right turn to Llangattock.

There are a number of routes to Crickhowell; some more complicated than others.  The easiest to follow (not quickest) is given below.
Take the A470 towards Brecon and follow around the town's bypass to join the A40 towards Abergavenny.  On reaching Crickhowell continue through the town.  Turn left into Greenhill Way that is opposite a sports field next to the castle and just after the fire station.  The entrance to the car park is immediately on the left.

Leave Llantrisant Leisure Centre and take M4 West 
Leave M4 at junction 47.
Take A483 Gorseinon second left off Roundabout. 
Take A484 Llanelli second exit stay on A484 until you reach a sign Gower (B4295) and stay on the B4295 until you reach Llanmadoc follow the road through the village until the Church of St Madoc is reached. 
Take the right fork, downhill, signposted Cwm Ivy. 
After a short distance the car park is on the right.

Take the M4 to Junction 47.
Take the second exit (A483).
At first roundabout take second exit (A484). 
At second roundabout take first exit towards Gowerton.
After passing under railway bridge turn right at traffic lights (B4295).
You are now on the north Gower Road.

Warning there are average speed cameras between Gowerton and Penclawdd and then between Penclawdd and Llanrhidian so keep to 40 mph.

Follow the north Gower road between Oldwalls and Llangennith until it descends into a deep dip.  At the bottom take the left turn, signposted Fairyhill Hotel.  After a short distance turn left at a cross roads.  Hillend is 400 metres up this road.

Leave the Leisure centre and head for the M4. 
Continue along the M4 until the turn off for Swansea
Then onto Fabian Way, carry on over the bridge at Quay Parade following Victoria Road. 
Keep on the Mumbles Road and leave at the traffic lights for Brynmill Lane. 
Turn left onto Gower Road, carry on until you see the Railway Inn on your left hand side.

From the leisure centre head for junction 34 roundabout, take the third exit to merge with the M4. Stay on the M4 until you reach junction 42, merge with Fabian Way and follow the road until you see the yellow bridge at the Swansea Arena on your left on Oystermouth Road, after the traffic lights the turning for Paxton car park in on your left hand side across from the Library.

NOTE - This start point is not open on Sunday.

Leave the Leisure Centre turn left and head for the M4 to Swansea,
Leave M4 at Junction 42 towards A483 City Centre.
Pass the Swansea University Bay Campas and take the right-hand lane to the next set of traffic lights and turn right. (McDonald's on left)
Drive to the roundabout and take second exit to the car park barrier, take ticket and drive around the one-way system and park close to the exit. Pay on exit.
The waiting room has toilets.

Travelling from Llantrisant take M4 west to Junction 43.
Leave at the 1st exit and at the nearby traffic lights turn right onto the B4290. Sign Skewen.
Follow the road to a left turn onto Pen Yr Alley Avenue.
At a mini roundabout turn right and follow this residential road to a left turn into Winifred Rd.
At a T junction turn right. Along this road there will be a left turn at a sign for the railway station.

Stay on the main road until you see sign post STATION , turn left at the traffic

private for community centre second car park is railway car park.

	Take M4 to junction 38.
	Take 2nd exit on A48.
	At 1st roundabout take 2nd exit (1st is not used) on to A4241.
	At 4th roundabout turn left on to North Bank Road. (Sign for Talbot Block builders merchants)
	Park on 1st road on right just past green gates.

Leave Llantrisant LC. And take M4 west.
Leave M4 at junction 40 and follow A48 into Port Talbot.
Follow signs for railway station and turn left into car park. 
The parking charge is £5.60 you will need to scan the QR code on the sign and pay by card.

M4 to roundabout at junction 43.
Take the third exit onto A465 (Heads of the Valley Road).
(An alternative route for some could be the Heads of the Valley Road)
Take the Neath Exit onto A474 towards Neath.
At first roundabout take second exit signed Port Talbot.
At next roundabout take first exit signed Tourist Destinations.
At the traffic lights (not pedestrian crossing) turn right signed Afan forest park.
At next roundabout take first exit into Beachwood Avenue.
At the end of this road turn right at T-junction into Dyfed Road.
Continue on this road to reach an entrance to the Gnoll estate CP.
On entering CP park in the first area on the left.
There is a £4.50 charge; the machines take cash or card.

Leave Llantrisant Leisure Centre and Take the M4 heading west.
Leave the M4 at junction 40
At the roundabout at the end of the slip road take 3rd exit onto A4107 Cymmer.
Continue on the A4107 for approximately 5.5 miles until you see the brown sign to the Afan Forest Park Visitor Cantre.
Take first left as you entre the car park and park near to the toilet block.

 Either take A470 north to Merthyr and take A465 towards Neath until the roundabout for Resolven. Turn right and then immediately left down slope to the cafe car park.
Alternatively take M4 west to Swansea and take the A465 north again to the
roundabout for Resolven. 
Turn left and then immediately left down slope to the cafe car park.

Join M4 towards Newport, at J28 go up A467. 
Stay on A467 until you reach sign for Llanhilleth where you turn right at the lights. 
Go past the railway station and turn left at the T junction. 
Turn next left into the car park for the Llanhillith miners institute.

 There are brown signs for Cwmtillery Lakes from the A467.
 
However, there has recently been a road closure on the bottom section of Alma Street (the first turning off after the traffic lights from the A467).  If the road closure is still in place, follow signs for the town centre (along Castle Street), turn left into High Street, then left into Church Street, then left on to Foundry Bridge to a T-junction.  Turn right to join Alma Street and then follow the brown signs.  Car parking is by the bottom lake.

From Llantrisant Leisure Centre take A473 to Upper Boat then pick up A470 down to Caerphilly exit whereupon take A468 up Nantgarw Hill then remaining on the A468 Caerphilly bypass for about 2 miles until exiting to the left on A468 at large roundabout. Stay on A468 dual carriageway avoiding Llanbradach exit. Join A472 (by keeping right near Ystrad Mynach) heading towards Crumlin and Pontypool. At roundabout take 2nd exit (continuing towards Crumlin and Pontypool) but after a few hundred yards turn right into Pantside. Proceed uphill passing Spar shop. Continue on rural lane to a right turn. Take this turn and after 0.5 mile the lane bends around to the right and over a cattle grid . The car park will then appear on the right.

M4 junction 26.
A4051/A4042 signed Abergaveny to Pontypool.
At seventh roundabout (the one with Services) turn left on A472.
Turn right at next roundabout onto A4043 signed Blaenavon.

Follow A48 for 4 miles and park in large lay-by on left of road, behind line of trees, a short distance after the untitled left turn (with white house and tattoo parlor) following left turn for Parc Seymore.  If you reach the point where there is a turning for Penhow castle on the right then you have gone too far.

From Coldra junction (M4) take A48 towards Chepstow. 
After Penhow look for LH turn, signed Llanvair Discoed. 
This is a narrow lane of 0.6 miles. 
Proceed through Llanvair Discoed uphill on slightly wider road and past Wentwood Reservoir on left. Cadeira Beeches is around 1 mile beyond the north end of the reservoir.

Take M4 to Caldra Junction (24) and take the A48E (signed Chepstow) and follow all the way to Caerwent. 
Go through the town to the end and turn right then soon bear left on Church Road and follow into Caldicot, and thence to the castle. 
Park opposite the castle front gate, where there is the toilet block.

M4 East to junction 23

Turn left onto the A466 (towards Chepstow).
At second roundabout (by entrance to race course) turn right (B4293-Chepstow)
Follow road for about 500 meters and turn left into Leisure Centre car park.
Park at far end of car park.

The following instructions follow the brown signs for the Forest of Dean.
Take first exit at Junction 2 (A466) and turn right (A48) at first roundabout.
Follow A48 on Chepstow bypass over river.
At top of hill turn left onto the B4228 (St Briavels); note that the road turns right at 1st roundabout in Tutshill.  
The car park is about four miles along this road.
Drive through Tutshill, Woodcroft and Broadrock; 500 yards after a church on a bend at Tideham Chase the car park is on the left with a brown sign for Offa's Dyke on the right.

Head East on M4 to Junc 24, where you take the A449 to Monmouth.
At Monmouth turn right over bridge (follow road instructions ) and follow road left onto A4136. After approx 5.5 miles you reach Five Acres where you turn right at traffic lights by Nissan garage onto B4432.
Keep on this road and follow signs for Speech House ( B4226 )
Go past Speech House on your right and car park is approx 1/4 mile on left

Take the A470 towards Merthyr Tydfil then the A4060 to Dowlais Top. 
Take the A465 (Heads of the Valleys Road) towards Abergavenny.
After you reach to 50mph speed limit take 2nd exit signposted Clydach and Llanelli Hill.
Take first right signed Clydach South (This is a two way road at start)
Take first right underneath the A465 and ignore first right and entrance to a seating area.
The car park is the next entrance on the right through a narrow green arch.

Exit Heads of the Valley Road at Gilwern roundabout.  Follow signs for A4077 to Crickhowell through the village.  Three hundred yards after the one way system in Gilwern turn left into Church Road (opposite the Corn Exchange Inn).  Follow this road for about five hundred yards and Gilwern Wharf is on your right just before the white railings of the canal bridge.

From Abergavenny, head west on the A465 Heads of the Valleys road. 3 miles later take the exit A4077 signed to Gilwern.
In Gilwern look for the car park on the right, immediately after a pedestrian crossing. As you turn in from the main road there is a road on your right, this can also be used for parking, on the right hand side as you start going up the hill.

OR

Take A470 north towards Merthyr Tydfil and on southern approach to Merthyr exit to the right at roundabout on to A4060 proceeding up to Dowlais Top and A465 Heads of the Valleys Road. Proceed on A465 in the direction of Abergavenny. After descending through Clydach Gorge take exit to left to Gilwern. Proceed down 'Main Road' to Car Park on left.

Keeper's Pond car park is at the top of The Tumble, on the B4246 between Blaenavon and Abergavenny.  I have attached a photo of the car park as it looks when approaching from Blaenavon.  I have also attached a map which shows some of the local roads.  AA routeplanner shows that the quickest route from Llantrisant is via the A465.  If so, at Brynmawr, you will need to take the B4248 and turn left at the end of it on to the B4246.  The car park will be on the right in just under a mile after you have entered Monmouthsire (there is a brown CC sign).

AA Routeplanner suggests that the distance is 35.3 miles in 48 minutes from Llantrisant Leisure, via the A4060 and A465 (so not the closed section between Cefn Coed and Dowlais Top). 
After the main descent from Brynmawr on the A465, take the slip road to Gilwern/A4077/Blaenavon. At Glanbaiden Roundabout, take the 4th exit on to B4246 which will take you into Gofilon. 
I recommend parking on the left hand side of Merthyr Road, Govilon, near the turning for The Avenue and Dragon Lane. 
Alternatively, we can park considerately in The Avenue.

Via Nelson, YstradMynach (alt. Nantgarw to YstradMynach),  
on the A472 to Newbridge and Pontypool. 
Leaving the A472 near Pontypool join the A4042 north in the direction of Abergavenny.
Via M4 Junction 26.
Take A4041/4042 signed to Pontypool.
Continue on the A4042 signed Abergavenny until lay-by, on right, 1 mile past Llanover.

 Take the A470 heading for the heads of the valley road, from the Hardwick Roundabout on the eastern edge of Abergavenny, take the A465 towards Hereford. After 5 miles turn left for Llanvihangel Crucorney. Go past the Skirrid Inn and immediately turn left.
Follow the road around until you see the Queens Head on your right. Just after the pub take the lane on your left, (ignore the car park at the bottom on your right, this is for Queens Head patrons and does incur a fee or parking charge if not paid at the pub). About 500 meters up the hill on your right you will see a clearing in the trees where you will find the forestry car park.

Route via YstradMynach, Newbridge. 
Join the A472 at Crumlin and follow to join the A 4042 
At a roundabout nr Pontypool 1st exit.
Follow the road towards Mamhilad and take 1st exit off the roundabout,
Signed for Goytre Wharf.

Take A470 to Dowlais Top then follow A465 to Abergavenny and continue until right turn onto B4521 marked Skenfrith and follow this road to the NT car park. 
(Alternative M4 to the junction 23 Malpas Road on up to Pontypool and Abergavenny then join A465 as above).

If coming via the A449, take the A40 towards Abergavenny.  At Raglan roundabout, take the fourth exit on to Clytha Road.  Continue on to Old Abergavenny Road, then Groesenon Road.  After the bends, turn left (signposted for the car park) and turn right after a short time into the car park.
If coming via Abergavenny, need to pick up the B4598 which is signposted to Clytha from the roundabout which meets the A40 and A4042.   Then stay on this (road ignoring the B4598 turning road) and continue in the direction of Raglan.  Eventually turn right (signposted Bettws Newydd and Clytha) and turn right into the car park.

M4 to Junction 24
A449/A40 to Monmouth.
Exit to B4233 immediately after Tunnel.
Straight on at roundabout.
Straight on at traffic lights.
Straight on at roundabout.
Take second exit (slightly to right) at roundabout.
Turn left just after fire station.  (Signed for Overmonnow Primary School)
After 50 meters take right fork and park on the left.
(It is less than a Kilometre from the Tunnel to this park.)

M4 to junction 24.  Take slip road exit onto A449.
Take first exit (Signed Usk), then immediate right (signed Chepstow etc.) for 1 mile.
Where road swing right go straight on (signed Llansoy) for 1.8 miles to a cross-roads.  
Turn right (signed Llansoy and Chepstow) for 3.4 miles to a T-junction.  Turn Left onto B4293 (signed Trellech) for 3.1 miles until you reach Trellech's 20mph sign.
Just after the road curves to the left the Trellech Centre's Car Park is on the right.
